The problem

ROAS doesn't show your profit.

By default, ad platforms optimize on order revenue. They don't see your product costs, so a sale with a 10% margin counts the same as a sale with a 70% margin.

Campaign A, ROAS 4.0€200
Campaign B, ROAS 2.8€820

Profit left after product costs and €1,000 ad spend each. Example.

How TrackBee fixes it

Profit as the conversion value.

For every order, we subtract the product costs from Shopify and send the result to Meta, Google Ads and Snapchat as the conversion value. Your campaigns can then optimize for profit instead of revenue.

Still have a question?

We answer in under five minutes, seven days a week. Weekdays 9:00 to 21:00, weekends 11:00 to 16:00 CET.

What is POAS, and how is it different from ROAS?

ROAS is revenue divided by ad spend. POAS, profit on ad spend, is profit divided by ad spend. A campaign that sells low-margin products can show a strong ROAS and still make you less money than a campaign with a lower ROAS and better margins. POAS shows that difference.

Where does TrackBee get my product costs?

From the cost per item on each product and variant in Shopify. For products without a cost, we use a fallback percentage that you set in TrackBee.

What if my product costs are not in Shopify yet?

Set a fallback cost of goods percentage in TrackBee. With a 30% fallback, we send 70% of the revenue as profit. For more accurate profit, add the cost per item in Shopify.

Which ad platforms support profit optimization?

Meta, Google Ads and Snapchat. Read the setup guide for Meta, Google Ads or Snapchat.

Does it replace my purchase event?

No. We send the profit value as a separate event next to your purchase events. In Google Ads, it is a separate conversion action that we create for you. You decide which one each campaign optimizes for.

Which costs are included in the profit value?

Today the profit value is based on your product costs. The new Products dashboard in TrackBee, in beta for a limited number of stores, also takes shipping, payment fees and pick-and-pack from your cost settings into account.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. You get a 30-day free trial with no credit card. Plans start at €79 a month with every integration included.
